OutSystems launches an open Agentic Systems Platform designed to decentralise AI development, enhance control over legacy systems, and support industry-specific AI solutions, with a focus on sovereignty, performance, and flexibility.
OutSystems has launched an open Agentic Systems Platform aimed at helping enterprises build AI systems without becoming overly dependent on a single model vendor, as large companies increasingly worry about concentration risk, switching costs and control over sensitive data.
The company said the platform is designed to keep business logic and data separate from the underlying models and tools that power AI applications. At the centre of the new offering is what OutSystems calls the Enterprise Context Graph, which it says gives organisations a real-time view of architecture and supports orchestration and governance across agents, applications and operational data.
A new OutSystems Agent Experience layer sits on top of that foundation. According to the company, it exposes A2A and MCP tools and services for developers building and managing agent portfolios, with the first services focused on agentic coding, publishing and platform extensibility.
OutSystems is also leaning more heavily into AWS. The company has added native integration with Kiro, AWS’s agentic development environment, and introduced Legacy Modernisation Services using AWS Transform. Those services are being previewed with selected customers and are intended to help migrate older systems, including COBOL and Lotus Notes-based estates, into newer agent-based environments.
The latest release also extends OutSystems’ Agent Workbench, which the company says now includes Amazon Bedrock support, agent evaluations, guardrails and semantic search. It is also introducing runtime isolation and self-hosting options, along with plans to add more European sovereign cloud providers, as customers look for more flexibility over where workloads run.
OutSystems said the platform is already being used by organisations such as the Dutch Red Cross, Butler Plus and AllianceCorp Manufacturing. The company also said its Agent Workbench has more than 5,500 AI agents in development across industries, suggesting the technology is moving beyond pilots and into operational use.
Woodson Martin, chief executive of OutSystems, said enterprise leaders need “leverage and control” in a fragmented AI market. “Enterprise leaders are realizing they need leverage and control in this highly fragmented and dynamic AI market,” he said. “To maintain that leverage and protect margins, organizations must separate their proprietary business logic and data from specific AI providers.”
He added that the platform is intended to let customers optimise for sovereignty, performance and cost without rebuilding core operations every time they change tools or models.
The company is also moving into industry-specific products, starting with a banking loan origination offering that also uses Amazon Bedrock. OutSystems said this is the first of a broader set of sector-focused tools, with additional domain models planned for areas including finance and law, as well as narrower tasks such as document processing.
Founded in 2001, OutSystems says its ecosystem now spans more than 85 million end users, over 600 partners and customers in more than 75 countries. The latest launch suggests the company is positioning itself not just as a low-code developer platform, but as a control layer for enterprises trying to govern AI agents, modernise legacy systems and deploy industry-specific applications from the same environment.
